Sick Child Visits: Compassionate Care When Your Child Needs It Most

When should I bring my child in for a sick visit?
If your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms, please contact our office to schedule a sick visit:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Difficulty breathing
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Ear pain
- Rash
- Unusual behavior or lethargy
What can I expect during a sick visit?
During a sick visit, our pediatrician will conduct a thorough physical examination to assess your child’s symptoms and identify the underlying cause. We may also order laboratory tests or imaging studies to help diagnose the illness.
Based on the diagnosis, our pediatrician will recommend appropriate treatment. This may include:
- Medications, such as antibiotics, antihistamines, or pain relievers
- Home remedies, such as rest, hydration, and over-the-counter medications
- Follow-up appointments to monitor your child's progress
How can I help my child feel better at home?
- Rest: Encourage your child to rest and avoid strenuous activities.
- Hydration: Ensure your child is drinking plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
- Over-the-counter medications: If recommended by your pediatrician, use over-the-counter medications as directed to relieve symptoms.
- Follow-up care: Adhere to your pediatrician's recommendations for follow-up appointments or treatments.
